My Vet Background

(and Why That Matters to You)

Every veterinary audience has its own language and priorities. Whether you want to reach practice managers, specialists, general practitioners, or students, I can adapt your message so it resonates. This adaptability comes from lived experience across many aspects of the profession, not just theory.

Here’s the path that shaped my perspective:
  • Research & Lab Work: my first step into veterinary science.

  • Veterinary Student: seeing the challenges of training and transition firsthand.

  • Academic Internship (Equine Medicine, Surgery, & Ambulatory): one year rotating through specialties, balancing the demands of clinical rigor.

  • Mobile Large Animal Associate: two years in a satellite majority-equine practice, on call 24/7.

  • Practice Owner (Mobile Large Animal Practice): eight years running my own business, balancing medicine with entrepreneurship.

    • During this period, I also:

    • Provided zoo and exotic animal care at tourist facilities.

    • Built a small-animal end-of-life service (at-home euthanasia).

    • Completed acupuncture training to expand treatment options for equine and small animals.

  • MBA: expanding beyond medicine into business and strategy.

  • Small Animal General Practice (Corporate): understanding the realities of corporate veterinary culture.

  • Shelter Medicine (Sole Veterinarian): resource-constrained medicine and public service.

  • Relief Veterinarian (Independently Owned Practices): small-animal general practice while transitioning into consulting.

  • AI in Healthcare Certificate: formal training at the intersection of veterinary practice, business, and technology.

What this means for you:
  • I’ve been in the trenches as an associate, an owner, a corporate vet, and a relief vet.

  • I understand the different pressures facing every stakeholder, from students to practice owners to B2B industry leaders.

  • And I can tailor your message to fit any audience in the veterinary ecosystem with the credibility of someone who’s lived it.
